Young People & Substances (Core Level- 1 day)

An introductory drug and alcohol awareness course for professionals or volunteers working mainly with young people under 19 years old. The course provides essential knowledge and introduces key skills for anyone working with young people in a variety of settings. It has been developed with the Under 19 Substance Misuse Services in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove in line with the Health Advisory Service guidance “The Substance of Young Needs.”  This course can be taken as a stand-alone but it also provides the basis for progression to the more specialist Part 2 training provided by the Under 19 SMS.   Pre-course reading will be provided which is an essential part of this course.

Dates: 23 Jan, 10 March, 10 June and 6 October 2009
Cost: Free to Brighton & Hove workers, although a late cancellation fee will apply.
