ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)


This course equips people with the skills to intervene to reduce the risk of suicide.

It is suitable for experienced staff as well as front line staff or community members with little or no formal experience of support/therapeutic work. Past participants have included, substance misuse workers, counsellors, nurses, mental health service users, carers, police, advocacy workers....

Brighton has a high suicide rate (in comparison to the national average) and it is vital to work together to address this. This training equips people with the skills to intervene to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

The course costs £150 for 2 days (9am to 5pm both days) we have a limited number of subsidised places for people on benefits/low income at £35.

The course dates are:

  • 3rd and 4th Novembers (weekend)
  • 28th and 29th Nov
  • 24th and 25th Jan
  • 22nd and 23rd Match (weekend)
