Diploma in Substance Misuse Intervention Strategies
The Diploma in Professional Studies in Substance Misuse Intervention Strategies is a part-time course covering one year, designed to give a general introduction to working as a specialist in substance misuse. It implements and assesses ten DANOS units (Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards). On successful completion of the course students will receive Accreditation by the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals (FDAP).
Who is the course for?
Anyone working with adult drug or alcohol users who wishes to deevlop their knowledge and skills. It is particularly suitable for those with some experience of the field who wish to take an evaluative qualification. The course is also suitable for service-users attached to a self-help organisation and those who work in a voluntary capacity.
You will need the support of your organisation.
When does the course start and finish?
The course starts in February and ends in January. The first module is taught at the university and consists of eleven study days. The second module is work based.
